Our STAR product
The round raffia rug!
Created in an associative workshop in the North of Madagascar, the rugs are entirely handmade. The craftswomen make their dyes from raffia and then braid the colored strands into a long mat that they roll up on itself.
The rugs are unique pieces signed by each craftswoman.
The rugs are between 60 cm and 2.30 m in diameter. It takes 3 weeks to make a 2 m rug .
The founders
Laura
A talented interior designer and creator of the DZ Architecture firm, Laure has renovated many hotels, offices, and homes. For several years, she co-designed a solidarity hotel in Madagascar within the Akamasoa association . Two trips to Madagascar allowed her to finalize this project and discover craftsmanship up close.
Married
After 15 years of experience in international marketing for perfume brands, Marie decided to retrain in 2022. Passionate about decoration, she went to Madagascar with Laure. Fascinated by the know-how discovered in Madagascar, they decided to found Intimani.
How we discovered Madagascar
It was while working as a volunteer architect that Laure Zucconi discovered Madagascar and its know-how.
The Hostel of Father Pedro in Tananarive was designed by a team of architects and decorators in France
With the Hostel project, Laure explores the treasures of Malagasy craftsmanship and signs a supportive, responsible project decorated with 100% handmade pieces from local workshops.
